First PRT is not an upgrade of BRT. PRT includes the platform (MicroStation) whereas BRT needs the platform (MicroStation). You are right, SELECTseries 4 is the latest (and last) Rail Track V8i generation of product. The previous was SELECTseries 2. OpenRail Designer is the next generation: Connect Edition. Even based on a long experience with previous generation, OpenRail Designer is a new product. On SELECT renewal (or before) you can upgrade to OpenRail Designer. You can then use Openrail Designer or/and Rail Track. The modeling tools in OpenRail Designer are almost the same than in Rail Track SS4. not a big deal to move from one to the other. The main difference are the ribbons. The brand new thing introduced with OpenRail Designer is all the annotation. Totally new. SS2 -> SS4: Introduciton of Openroads Technology (Modelization) SS4 -> OpenRail: New Product, All annotation capabilities/workflows are new OpenRail Designer will also include Overheadline design. OpenRail ConceptStation is for conceptual design. You can find many videos on youtube (also search for OpenRoads ConceptStation).
