Forum Post: SUE Node's smart naming possible?

Hi all. I'm not sure where to post this question / prayer, so please point me in another direction if it is not supposed to be here. I have been using SUE for Powerrailtrack SS4 for some time now, and I'm starting to prepare for OpenRail. I have been wondering if it would be possible to have my nodes/manholes named based on a position compared to an allignment line. The way I'm doing it now is to: Place the node with the desired prefix for the manhole, and then using the tracking tool on an allignment file to read the station at the position where I placed the node, and then giving the manhole the name of that station. I was hoping in the future it would be possible to have the node be placed a set distance of the allingment and even have the name of the node change, if there would be any changes in the allignment stationing. I know this is a lot to ask for, but it would help create a more dynamic process in our projects and make the tool more usefull. AFAIK there will be some annotation comming in Update 4 for ORD, so I don't know if this is something that will be in there, but would sure love to pitch the idea towards whom ever is working on SUE at Bentley.
