Very difficult to do a check list with matching functionalities. We can do for some but it will not give the full picture. The very new is about drawing production. So many parameters and capabilities in OpenRail but not sure you will find everything you need to produce the exact same drawing than in Rail Track. A sample project must be done with OpenRail to configure the software and to check you can do what you want to do or a great part of it. OpenRail Designer is easy to learn and use, homogenous, powerful so many good reasons to use it. But it is a new product. I don't doubt you can model easier and more than what you've done until now with Rail Track but drawings are often the deliverables. Each new version of OpenRail gives more, but no insurance you can do what you used to do. Another example is regression analysis: the current version can't do what Rail Track can do (multiple element regression analysis, sorted line). It should come soon in OpenRail Designer. Depending on your design and workflow the turnout connection editor can miss. Then there are some extentions you may use or not and that are not availbale in OpenRail Designer. If your focus is BIM and modelling then OpenRail Designer is the one. Drawing production is rich as well but there are thousands of different ways to annoate plan, profile, xsection in the world.
