Hi Stewart and jpln, I think this is a very innovative idea and should be sent to Bentley development group as a Change request, since Bentley has chosen to keep the alg-structure for the RailTrack Program. Nowadays the contractors are more and more inclined to use the native design data (like alg) directly, which requires the project are designed into "Objects", this is also the truth for alignments. Not just "notes" but as algs are already a "database", it should be fairly easy to add the capabilities to contain other metadata based on sections (from/to chainage), such as type of sub-/superstructure, type of work etc. etc. The drawings (styles) should be predefined to be correpondent to these differences. Hope other RailTrack users also can see the added values for a more "intelligent" alg file and would like to comment in this discussion. Regards, LiPeng of Denmark
