You don't have a trim on elements of one alignment. So you can edit each element using both point and select the intersection point for one, then end point for the other

You can't. Power Rail Track SS4 doesn't use IRD. OpenRail is not downward compatible with Rail Track SS4. There is no export to IRD command to go back to SS2.
